Richard J. "Lefty" Lefchick

LEFCHICK---Richard J. “Lefty,” 82, Richland, went to join his wife and daughter in Heaven on May 26, 2023. Born September 15, 1940, in Johnstown, son of John and Anna (Gelles) Lefchick. Preceded in death by parents; loving wife of 59 years, Margaret C. (Dill) who passed away on May 20, 2023 and daughter Laura A. Lefchick. Survived by daughter, Theresa L. Lefchick, Johnstown; grandchildren, Stephanie and Tyler Lefchick, both of Johnstown; great granddaughter, Shaelyn Lefchick; also survived by brother, Ronald Lefchick and wife, Ann Marie, Altoona; and sister, Pat Meyers, Maryland and sister-in-law, Cathy (Dill) Hartless, Boswell. Lefty worked as a police officer for over 40 years in Richland Township, Conemaugh Township and in Washington D.C. After retirement, he worked in security at DRS. He was an Air Force veteran serving in Hawaii. Lefty was the caretaker at Highland Regional Park for over 30 years. At his request, there will be no public viewing or service. Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family is being served by Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland.
