Coyle, Richard E. Sr. âSkipâ 86, of Johnstown. Died December 11, 2014, at Windber Hospice. Born July 9, 1928, in Johnstown. Son of the late James and Emma (Gonda) Coyle. Also preceded in death by his Brother James Coyle who is survived by his wife Rose; Sister Patricia Wavrek and husband Cletus, and Son in Law Mike Moyer. Richard is survived by his loving Wife of nearly 60 years Joan E (McKeon) Coyle; Brother William âBuddyâ and wife Amelia âSissyâ; and his Sister Rita Beltz and husband Calvin. Richard was also the dedicated Father of 6 children; Colleen Moyer Bayshore and husband Kevin, Lt. Col. USMC (Ret.) Richard E Coyle Jr and wife Lynne, Lorraine Coyle Praturi and husband Dr. Mohan Praturi, Patricia Fritz and husband Richard âDickâ, Eileen Chelednik and husband Craig, and John Coyle and wife Ann. Richard âPappyâ was also the very proud grandfather of 11 Grandchildren. Tina Moyer, Luke Moyer, Michael Moyer, Becky Moyer, Megan Coyle, Jenna Coyle, Chad Fritz, 1 Lt. Army Rudy Chelednik, Craig Chelednik, Grace Coyle, Jack Coyle and 3 Great Grandchildren Hayley Moyer, Hayden Bowser and Kinzey Morris. Richard was a lifelong resident of Johnstown. Following his proud service in Korea with the U.S. Marine Corps, Richard joined the Plumber and Pipe Fitters Local #354. He retired after 31 years of service with Johnson Controls, Inc. âSkipâ had hands of gold. He turned raw lumber into beautiful furniture. Richard was a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather who âNever looked for praises. Was never one to boast. He went on quietly working for those he loved the most. His dreams were seldom spoken, his wants were very few. Most of the time his worries went unspoken too. He was there⦠a firm foundation, through all our successes in life. A sturdy hand to hold, in times of joy and strife. A true friend we turned to when times were good or bad, one of our greatest blessings in the world was the man we called Richard, Skip and Dad.âFriends received 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil service will be held.
