Bloom, Richard J., 85, of Richland Township. Died July 4, 2015, at home. Born Aug. 5, 1929, in Johnstown. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard E and Mary A (Miller) Bloom; brother Gerald and wife Dot Bloom; sister Virginia "Tweet" and husband Earle Butts. Richard is survived by his loving wife of an incredible 51 years, Linda (Rose) Bloom; and missed so very much by his 3 daughters Marianne (Allardice), Dianne (Braley) and Laura (Snell). Missed just as much by his sons-in-law Kevin Allardice, Pete Braley, and David Snell. Poppy adored his 9 grandchildren Abby, Brady and Annie Allardice; Hannah, Sam and Jack Braley; Hope, Isabella and Olivia Snell. His nieces and nephews were so special to him in so many ways; they made their mark in his life. He is also survived by sister-in-law and her husband, Mabel "Punky" and Ron Fish. Never to be forgotten by beloved friend and companion, Emily, or anyone who ever really knew him. A man "out standing" in his field, joined the angels in the outfield on July 4, 2015. He was a lifelong devotee of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. He loved baseball and played in Johnstown's AAABA tournament, but eventually chose career over baseball. He was a 47-year veteran and officer of Johnstown Bank and Trust. A sweet and "punny" man, Richard was known for his great sense of humor and the gift of making us smile. "We know you have had the happiest of days, we are blessed to have loved you in so many ways. You have enjoyed every moment and with it a smile, knowing you have earned it and walked many a mile. You gave us so much, how could we repay the morals and values that lead us each day. To become responsible parents and daughters too, we will always love and appreciate you. We love you, being with you made us glad. Thanks for the memories! Dear Poppy, Richard and Dad. “Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM Thursday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown. Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal at Richland Cemetery.
