Wagner – Raymond R., 90, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on June 28, 2015. Born on May 25, 1925 in Johnstown, son of Charles and Caroline (Gehring) Wagner. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth “Betty” (Orris) Wagner; brother, Leighton; sister, Leora Frederick and sons-in-law, Kip Williams and Dan Wingard. He is survived by his loving children, Kathy, wife of Barry Romanko, Harrisburg, PA, Donna Williams, Salix, Rick, married to Lori, Johnstown, Patty, wife of Wayne Bridges, Apex, NC, and Dave, married to LeeAnn, Johnstown; grandchildren, Melinda (Mike) Knight, Jeffrey Romanko, Kristen Ponchione, Adrienne Ober, Alison (John) Phillips, Rick, Nicole, and Joshua; great grandchildren, Nolan, Alexis, Addison, Jack, and Lily; several nieces, nephews; cousin, Flo Hale, Windber, and many friends, including special friend, Evelyn Bistransky, Johnstown. Ray was a 1942 graduate of Johnstown High School. He was a US Army Veteran serving with the 45th Infantry Division during WW II and was awarded 3 Purple Hearts and 1 Bronze Star. Ray retired from Conemaugh & Blacklick Rail Road after 32 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church; Menoher Post #155 V.F.W.; Military Order of the Purple Heart; an Active member of Richland Senior Center, and volunteered at Windber Hospice for many years. Ray was a musician and played the guitar in his own band, and many local bands. He also played baseball for many years. Ray enjoyed dancing, working in his yard and watching the Pirates. He loved his family immensely and will be missed by all that knew him. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev. Toby Holland officiating. Interment will be at Richland Cemetery with military rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. The family suggests contributions be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 (www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate) or to Windber hospice, 600 Somerset Avenue, Windber, PA 15963 in memory of Raymond.
