Boes – Raymond J., “Pap” 97, Geistown Borough, went to be with the Lord on April 16, 2016 at his residence. Born on July 14, 1918 in Johnstown, son of Norbert A. and Mary L. (Schilling) Boes. Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dorothy Gallagher, Louise Boes, Sr. Pauline, Sisters of the Divine Providence, Agnes Heidenthal, and Pauline Boes; brothers Norbert, George, Joseph and Robert Boes; brothers-in-law Joseph Gallagher and James Heidenthal and sisters-in-law Madeline (Kist) Boes and Ruth (Kist) Boes. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Ruth (Mahan) Boes, Geistown Borough; daughter, Patricia A., wife of Thomas E. Myers, Youngstown, OH, and their children, Thomas E. Jr. (Kristy), Akron, OH, Patrick R. and his fiancé, Lindsey Pardi, Fairlawn, OH, and Christopher T., Youngstown, OH; son, Lawrence R. and partner, Haytham Bitar, Fort Lauderdale, FL; son, Richard P., married to the former Karen L. Miller, North Huntingdon, PA and their children, Christina M., Bethel Park, PA, Michael P. (Tracey), Daphne, AL, and Nicholas P., North Huntingdon, PA: son, Dennis W., married to the former Delores Gawel, Johnstown, and their daughters, Jessica, Johnstown, and Jennifer (Eric), Koontz, Johnstown; daughter, Mary Beth, wife of Paul A. Mancini, Hooversville, PA, and their sons, Matthew P., Hooversville, PA and Mark A. and his fiancé, Juliana Bursic, Pittsburgh, PA; son, David J., Winter Park, FL, and his sons, Joshua and husband Stephen, Portland, OR, and Jared J., Winter Park, FL; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Imelda Schiffauer and husband Richard of Canfield, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews. Ray was a US Army Air Force Veteran serving during WWII. He retired as a Superintendent from Sani-Dairy after 45 years of service. Ray was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, The Quarter Century Club at Sani-Dairy, and a past volunteer at the former Mercy Hospital. He enjoyed working in his yard as well as planting his garden. Ray also enjoyed riding his tractor and was a jack of all trades. There was nothing he couldn’t repair. He loved spending time with his entire family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ray and Ruth would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on May 5th, 2016. His family would like to thank St. Benedict Catholic Church, all the care givers from Conemaugh Regional Hospice, the Veterans Administration, Interim Health Care, and special care givers, Becky, Alice and Judy. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal will be at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum with military rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. The family suggests contributions be directed to either St. Benedict Catholic Church, 2310 Bedford Street, Johnstown, PA 15904, or to Conemaugh Regional Hospice, 1086 Franklin St, Johnstown, PA 15905 in memory of Raymond.
