Pia Lyzinski

Lyzinski, Pia, 92, of East Taylor Township, passed away on August 5, 2012 at home.  She was born on August 29, 1919 in Milan, Italy. Daughter of Attilio and Nella (Preti) Montoni. Preceded in death by parents; great grandson, Patrick Empfield and a brother, Plinio. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, John J. Lyzinski, East Taylor Township; children, David married to the former Lydia Fadini, Moorestown, NJ; Thomas married to the former Joanne Zucco, Phoenix, AZ; Ruth, East Taylor Township; Daniel, married to the former Joan Bossenga, Herndon, VA;and Jane, wife of Gary Empfield, Jeannette, PA; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Glaucio and wife Wanda, Pistoia, Italy and several nieces and nephews. Pia was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration and the Legion of Mary. She enjoyed playing BINGO and spending time with her family, who loved her dearly. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Tuesday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First Street, Conemaugh, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday at the Church of the Transfiguration, Father Robert C. Hall. Committal will be at Assumption Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to Church of the Transfiguration, 220 Oak Street, Johnstown, PA 15909 in memory of Pia.
