Zepka - Peter Elmer, 80, Johnstown, died November 11, 2019 at the Villa Personal Care Home surrounded by loving family and friends under the wonderful care of the Villa staff and Interim Hospice after his battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Born December 4, 1938 in Windber, PA, son of the late Peter W and Irene (Lepado) Zepka. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Bette Lou (Rohde) and canine companions, Taffy and Hannah. Survived by son, Douglas Zepka, and his wife Elizabeth, Connecticut; daughter, Teresa Zepka, Johnstown; grandchildren, Douglas, Chad, and Seth; great grandchildren, Blake and Dakota; sisters, Rose Honchar, Johnstown and Janie Hallett, Buffalo, NY; brother, Thomas Zepka Sr., Johnstown; brothers-in law, Jerry Rohde and his wife, Chris, Johnstown and Robert Svopa, East Stroudsburg; sister-in law Patricia Rohde and several nieces and nephews. Peter was a lifetime member of SS. Gregory & Barnabas Catholic Church, Daisytown and resident of Conemaugh Township. He was a former owner of Zepka Harley Davidson and owner of Pete Zepka’s Golf Carts. Over the years, Peter spent his time riding motorcycles, scoring races, attending hill climbs, inspecting cars, and servicing golf carts. Peter always made sure people knew exactly what he was thinking. He liked to torment his longtime friend Chopper. Peter enjoyed spending time with all his friends at Daisytown Firehall watching his beloved Steelers; Penguins and Pirates too! He especially enjoyed spending time there with his good friends Nick, Ron, Tom, and Jodi. Peter also enjoyed his breakfast friends at Em’s downtown, all of his golf course buddies, bank teller friends, and his oilman, Dave Thornton! He enjoyed visiting his friends at TNC’s, Annie’s, Cover Hill and Solomon Run Fire Clubs, and Geistown Country Club. Peter enjoyed a group of lifelong friends in Jim Smay, Shutz, Rupert, Mark Renowden, Butchy Hollern, and his cousin Bob Coppoletta. The Zepka family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Janel Phillips and to each and every member of the Villa Personal Care Home; to Jim Kaufmann and the entire staff of Interim Hospice; to Drs. Kastelic, Chakunta, Gella and all their staffs; to Conemaugh Emergency Department and GS4; and Bev Blanchetti and all the ladies who helped to take care of Peter. Friends will be received from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Ss. Gregory & Barnabas Catholic Church, Daisytown, Fr. Robert Ruston, Pastor. Private burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family suggests contributions be directed to S.S.
