Pearl Arlene Long

Long – Pearl Arlene, 76, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on August 26, 2018. Born on April 26, 1942 in Ebensburg, PA, daughter of John Peter Sr. and Bertha Elizabeth (Wadsworth) Hopfer. Preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Melissa Anne; infant sister, Dorothy Louise, and sisters, Doris Jean Matthews-Willits, and Anna Mae Mardis, and brother, John Peter Hopfer Jr. She is sadly missed by her loving husband of 57 years, William Robert Long and these children, Joyce Arlene Burrows, East Conemaugh, Donna Jean, wife of John Heckman, Richland Township, and David Wayne, married to the former Lisa Wingsikle, Johnstown; 12 grandchildren, Sarah, Lynn, Michael and Madeline Burrows, Johnny, Jessica and Steven Heckman, Dawn Gougenour, Jeremy Barber, Tricia Stahl, Matthew Long, and Ivy Long; great grandchildren, Rory Brice Burrows-Melville, Sylus John Bravo, and 2 more great grandchildren to come. Also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews, and very special sister-in-law, Nancy Long. Pearl retired from Ameriserv Financial Bank after many years of service. She was a member of Homestead Avenue United Methodist Church and UMWA Local #2635. Pearl enjoyed family genealogy, taking pictures, playing the organ, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. She loved her family very much and will be remembered for her kind and loving nature. Friends will be received from noon until time of service at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland.
