Yoder â Paul D., 84, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on October 9, 2014 at his residence. Born on March 9, 1930 in South Fork, son of Hiram S. and Mearle (Burnheimer) Yoder. Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Winifred Yoder, Janet Bulvin, Mildred Wingard and Erlemond Hemker and brothers, Glenn and Carl. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Lou (Walls) Yoder, Richland Township; sister, Jessie Y. Berkebile, Richland Township and numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was a 1948 graduate of Adams High School. Following high school he joined the US Marine Corps. and served during the Korean War. After the Korean War he received his degree in Mechanical Engineering. Paul retired in 1992 from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp after 33 years of service as a Superintendent for all the mechanical shops. He was a former Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America and was also a teacher for the 55 Alive in Wheeling. Paul was a past member of Vance Presbyterian Church, Wheeling, WV, where he served on several boards. He was a member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church and the Windber Country Club. Paul enjoyed fishing, cross word puzzles and traveling with his wife, Mary Lou. Paul loved his family dearly and will be remembered as a kind and loving husband, brother and friend. Paulâs family would like to thank the staff of Horizon Hospice of Altoona and his special care givers, Billie Rae Moss and Patty McQuaide. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Monday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Tuesday at Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Joseph R. Stains officiating. Entombment will be at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum with military rites conducted by Conemaugh Valley Marine Corps.
