Paul W. Swartz

Swartz, Paul W., 69, of Richland. Died Dec. 30, 2021, at Conemaugh Medical Center. Born August 1, 1952, in Johnstown. Son of late Donald Jay and Elda May (Pelkey) Swartz. Also preceded in death by brother Edward (Diane). Survived by loving wife of 48 years, Gayle (Miller) and children Christopher (Tiffany) Swartz; and Wendy (Keith) Mayket. Also survived by six loving grandchildren, Zachary, Meghan, Lilianna and Eli Swartz and Nathaniel and Olivia Mayket, all of whom he was their biggest fan. Brother of Donna Swartz and Shirley (Roger) Sheriff. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A 1971 graduate of Richland High School. Paul played in the first Ken Lantzy football game and received an outstanding lineman award. Retired from WC McQuaide Freight Lines, where he was a driver and dispatcher. He also worked for AUCP and his most favorite job as bus driver at Coal Tubin’. Paul was involved in coaching youth sports for a number of years and his church where he played in the Bell Choir, Choir and was a Lay Assistant. He also loved hunting, fishing and golfing with the “Wacker” league. Paul was a 22 year survivor of a heart transplant. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday at Harris Funeral home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and from 10 -11 am time of Service Monday at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Pastor Scott Klimke.
