Singer, Paul A., 85, of Johnstown. Passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 29, 2018, at Windber Hospice. Born August 16, 1932 in Johnstown. Son of the late Melvin and Nellie (Siehl) Singer. Also preceded in death by his loving wife, Marjorie R. (Cober) Singer; siblings Melvin, Thomas, and George Singer; and granddaughter Cassandra L. Singer. Survived by these children: Kellee (Jack) Shirk, Todd (Shelly), Scott (Tammy), Jon (Tammy), and Tina (Craig) Springer. Also 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Brother of Richard Singer. 1950 graduate of Johnstown High School. Army veteran of the Korean War serving as a medic. Member of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren. Retired as Pattern Shop Foreman for Johnstown Plant, US Steel Corp. After retirement he opened his own pattern shop “Woodworking Specialties.” Paul was a deacon at Locust Grove C.O.B. He and his wife Marge were foster parents for 33 years to 68 children. He was also an exchange student parent, Sunday School teacher, 4-H Leader Horse & Pony Club. Paul loved spending time with his family and friends, farming, model trains, auto racing and his ’56 T-Bird. Friends received 3-8 PM Monday and from 10 AM to time of service at 11 Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Interment at Richland Cemetery. The Singer Family wishes to thank Paul’s many friends for their support and love. Special thanks to the Windber Hospice Unit staff and volunteers for their compassionate care.
