MAUK---Patricia Gail, 78, Johnstown, passed away on April 5, 2025. Born August 31, 1946, in Johnstown, daughter of Clarence E. and Lois E. (Schwartzentruver) Furlong. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Donald Mauk, daughter, Tara Mauk-Barnes and brother, Gary Furlong. Survived by sister-in-law, Polly Furlong and niece, April Furlong-Thomas. Pat was a 1964 graduate of Conemaugh High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Penn State. She was an elementary school teacher at Conemaugh Valley for many decades. Pat loved teaching about American History and she visited historic sites like Colonial Williamsburg many times. One of her students submitted her name to a publication listing the best teachers in America and she was honored. The highlight of her life was a month-long tour of Ireland and the UK. Pat had a “bit of the blarney” and wonderful storytelling came naturally to her. She will also be remembered for her cooking and always fed family crowds effortlessly. Patricia survived both her husband, Donald and daughter, Tara and will now rest with both of them at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. At Pat’s request, there will be no Funeral Service and Committal will be private. Pat will be remembered fondly by her students, friends and family. She will be missed so much and never forgotten. The family is being served by Baker Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services, 229-231 First St., Conemaugh. Online condolences may be posted at www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.
