Ona H. Buschko-Gohn

Buschko-Gohn – Ona H., 87, of Richland, went to be with the Lord on November 28, 2019 at Good Samaritan Medical Center. She was born in Nanty-Glo, Pennsylvania on June 1, 1932.  Ona was the daughter of the late Harry and Catherine (Yaworsky) Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael F. Buschko, husband, Donald O. Gohn, son, Joseph R. Buschko and the following siblings: sisters Ann Gallagher, Kathleen Evans, and Mary Priester and brothers John Anderson, Joseph Anderson, Michael Anderson and Sam Anderson. Survived by daughter Mary Kay (Richard) Russell, Johnstown, sons Jon (Kathleen) Buschko, Phoenix, Arizona, Michael (Mary Jo) Buschko, Dover, Delaware, Nicholas (April) Buschko, Freeland, Washington, brother Nicholas Anderson, Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, stepdaughters Claudia (Charlie) Rutledge and Debbie (Ted) Soloweigh. She was also survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ona was a long-time employee of former Sears and Roebuck and Bestform Foundations and was an avid Steelers fan. She was a long-time member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. Ona embraced life with a passion. She loved to dance whether it was jitterbug, swing or country. For many years, she belonged to Track II Squares and Horseshoe Cloggers and could be spotted dancing for various events around town. It was not unusual to see her teaching young folks a country line dance. She also loved to travel and during her life went on many cruises, visited all 50 states and 6 countries. Ona was active at the Richland Senior Center organizing a dart league, Wii bowling and a bocci league. She had a warm and generous spirit and made everyone feel welcome. Most importantly, she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, wife and friend. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. - noon on Friday, Dec. 6th, at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to the Salvation Army, 576 Vine Street, Johnstown, PA 15901 in memory of Ona. Online condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.
