Martin â The Rev. Dr. Noah S., 74, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on November 16, 2014 at his residence. Born on January 27, 1940 in Ephrata, PA, son of Noah Z. and Susanna W. (Sensenig) Martin. Preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Isaac, Anna Mary Stauffer, Clarence (Eleanora) Martin, Dorothy (John) Freed; brother-in-law, Leon Weber. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sandra K. (Beverlin) Martin, Richland Township; children, Steven Martin, Johnstown, PA, Kathleen (Dennis) DiPaola, Johnstown, PA, Christopher (Wendy) Martin, Lancaster, PA, Cheryl (Brian) Wagner, Phillipsburg, PA; grandchildren, Amber Brush, Lauren Ordonez, Cassidy DiPaola, Brayden DiPaola, Jake Martin and Madison Martin; great granddaughter, Natalie Ordonez; siblings, Walter (Beulah) Martin, New Holland, PA, Chester (Arlene) Martin, McCordsville, IN, Catherine (Daniel) Longenecker, Lititz, PA, Irene (John) Neff, Lititz, PA, Susan Weber, Atmore, AL, Melvin (Cheryl) Martin, Tracy, CA; sister-in-law, Elva Martin Lititz, PA; brother-in-law, Roy Stauffer, Lititz, PA and numerous nieces and nephews. Noah earned degrees from Eastern Mennonite University, Eastern Baptist Seminary, Princeton Seminary, and Lancaster Theological Seminary. He was an ordained minister in the Western PA District of the Church of the Brethren. Noah was a member of the Arbutus Church of the Brethren. He served as pastor of the Moxham Colonial Church of the Brethren and as a Marriage and Family Counselor. Noah was founder and retired Director and Counselor of New Day, Inc., a Christian Ministry to at-risk families. He established Noahâs Ark Publishing Company and authored, edited and published a number of inspirational books, pamphlets and articles. Noah served as interim pastor and guest speaker at many local churches and events in the Johnstown community. He dearly loved his family and treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren. Noah had a love and passion for serving God. At Noahâs request there will be no public viewing. Friends will be received from 1 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 3 p.m. on Thursday at Arbutus Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Ron Barto officiating. Private inurnment will be at Richland Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family is being served by the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland.
