Nick U. Bardo Sr.

Bardo – Nick U., Sr., “Pottsy”, 92, Windber, PA, went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2014 at U.P.M.C Washington Hospital. Born on April 18, 1922 at home, Windber, PA, son of Ulisse N. and Laura R. (Ferrante) Bardo. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Rose M. (Karmendy) Bardo and daughter, Patty Goncher. He is survived by his loving son, Pastor Nick U. Bardo Jr., Waynesburg, PA; grandson, Eric Goncher Sr., married to the former Sue Gordon, Johnstown; great grandson, Eric Goncher Jr., Johnstown and several nieces and nephews. Pottsy was a 1941 graduate of Windber High School. He retired from Berwind Coal Company after 41 years in the accounting department. Pottsy was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where he attended faithfully the Men’s Prayer Breakfast. He enjoyed sitting on his back porch, hunting and especially his garden. Pottsy was well known for his hot peppers. Pottsy will be remembered for his generous nature as he quietly shared with others, expecting nothing in return. He loved God, his church and his family. At Pottsy’s request there will be no public viewing. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. on Monday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Pastor Ray Streets officiating. Private inurnment will be at Richland Cemetery. The family is being served by the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland.
