Visovsky – Nicholas G., 92, Franklin Borough, went to be with the Lord on March 19, 2020 at Laurelwood Care Center. Born on March 7, 1928 in Franklin Borough, son of Nicholas and Mary (Yanoschik) Visovsky. Preceded in death by parents, and siblings, Ann Cancelliere, Mary Lennon, Mike Visovsky, Kay Vulpio, and Martha Turowski; brothers-in-law, Salvatore Cancelliere, James Lennon, John Turowski, and Mike Vulpio. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Julia (Petriska) Visovsky; children, Rick G. (Cyndi), Princeton Junction, NJ, Mary Ann (Karl K.) Brustle, Hollidaysburg, and Ellen Marie (Jeff) Visovsky-Ondris, Vienna, VA; grandchildren, Kent and Julie Brustle and Richard and Caroline Visovsky; sister-in-law, Florence Visovsky, Brooklyn, NY; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. Nick was a graduate of Franklin High School and a lifelong member of the Alumni Association. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. Nick retired from Conemaugh Valley School District as a teacher. He was a member of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church. Nick was a member of Franklin Borough Council, and life member of Franklin Borough Volunteer Fire Company. He enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren, metal detecting at the beach, duck pin bowling, and playing cards with his family. Nick also enjoyed growing vegetables in his garden, canning and sharing what he grew. He will be fondly remembered for his spaghetti sauce and pickled red beets. Due to current heath conditions, there will be no public viewing. Private Funeral Mass will be held at the convenience of the family at Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church, Rev. Dr. Robert F. Oravetz. Private committal will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with military rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. The family is being served by the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh. The family suggests contributions be directed to Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church, 217 Fourth Street, Conemaugh, PA 15909 in memory of Nick.
