Urban, Nicholas Francis, Sr., 60, of Mineral Point, went to be with the Lord on November 7, 2012 at his residence. He was born on November 23, 1951 in Johnstown. Son of the late Stephen A. and Agnes C. (Livingston) Urban, Johnstown. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by a brother, David; an infant sister; brothers-in-law, Ray Sowerbrower, Kenneth Teeter and Ed Russell and a sister-in-law, Pam Urban. In addition to his mother he is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Rebecca A. (Shiley) Urban, Mineral Point; sons, Nicholas F. Jr., Mineral Point and Scott A. Sr., married to the former Tracy Myers, Johnstown; daughter, Lynn A., wife of Barry Keiper, Johnstown; grandchildren, Scotty Urban, MacKenzie âNicoleâ and Emily âKatherineâ Keiper, and Jacob âPossumâ Urban; siblings, Rose Mary Teeter, Veronica, wife of Henry Block, Sherry Sowerbrower, Mary âCookieâ, wife of Bob Wilde, Stephen, John, married to the former Annie Williams, Bernice âSissyâ, wife of William Teeter, Charles (Cathy), and Willie (Nancy) all of Johnstown; 6 sisters-in-law; 2 brothers-in-law and several nieces and nephews. Nicholas was employed as a police officer for 18 years. During his years of service Sgt. Urban was a K-9 Handler, and part of the Cambria County Drug Task Force Team. He later became East Taylor Township Supervisor; Police Commissioner and worked in the Security Department at the former Lee Hospital. Nicholas was a member of the Conemaugh Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a dedicated Steeler, Penguin and Penn State Fan. Nicholas loved his entire family, especially his grandchildren. Nicholas was strong in his faith and professed the love of the Lord. Friends will be received from 9 A.M. until time of service at 11 A.M. on Friday at Conemaugh Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Butch Derr officiating. Private interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family is being served by the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh The family suggests contributions be directed to St. Jude Childrenâs Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Nicholas.
