Casale, Nellie V., 91, of Westmont. Died at Good Samaritan Department of Conemaugh Medical Center on December 1, 2016. Born September 18, 1925, in Johnstown. Daughter of Cyprian and Julia (Wolak) Przybylo. Preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Dr. Lawrence (Doc); infant son Christopher; sisters Anne, Carol, Lillian; and brothers, Nicholas and Vincent. Survived by sons Larry, married to Patricia (Straitiff), of FL; Fred, married to Sue (Marovich), of West Virginia; Mark and Matthew, both of Johnstown; grandchildren Lisa (Mark Kepple), Jenny (Matthew Perks), Fred Casale, Michael Casale (Annie), Daniel Casale (Anna); great grandchildren Kiera, Addison and Cooper Perks, Ashton and Julianna Kepple, Coral and Juniper Casale; and also survived by brother-in-law Chuck Berney of California and a number nieces and nephews. Growing up in Bon Air, ‘Nellie’ became an accomplished classical violinist and later gained national fame as “Miss Disc of 1947”, awarded for top record sales and promotion. The Johnstown papers regularly featured stories about her travels, with columns such as “Where Is Nellie This Week?” and many others. She settled in Johnstown with her husband to raise a family and was married 64 years until Doc’s death on July 24 of this year. Nellie was a devoted member of Our Mother Of Sorrows Church, where Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 5 at 11 AM. The Very Reverend Mark S. Begley, pastor. Committal at Grandview Cemetery.
