Nellie A. Allison

Allison, Nellie A. (Smay) Age 93, of Marbury, MD, formerly of Oakland in Johnstown, PA. Went home to be with the Lord on June 14, 2015, at her home in Marbury, MD.  She was born on April 13, 1922 in Sidman.  Daughter of the late John and Alice (Davis) Smay.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward “Dean” Allison; sisters Madeline “Jane” Oswald and Ruth Held; brothers Roy and John Smay. Survived by her son Roy, of Atlanta, GA;  daughters Judy, married to Wil Budd, Marbury, MD; Carol married to Herb Blanton, Grove City, OH; and Sonja Hartley, Cross Lanes, W.VA; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; and Sisters Hazel McGarvey in Johnstown; Ruby Bloom from Ohio and brother Jim and several nieces and nephews. Nellie was employed as a waitress for 19 years and later as a Toy Ladies Demonstrator for 19 years.She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and bowled on the churches bowling league.  She enjoyed traveling and visiting her children and grandchildren. Nellie enjoyed hand picking vegetables and fruits, especially strawberries and apples.She was still in the apple tree at 89 and in the strawberry patch at 90. Friends and family will be received from 6  to 8 PM on Thursday and from 10 AM to 11 AM Friday, time of service at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with Rev.  Ray Streets, officiating.  Interment will be at Mt.
