Johnson – Milford R., “Jake”, 96, Lower Yoder Township, went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2017 at LaurelWood Care Center. Born on April 3, 1920 in Johnstown, son of Charles F. and Emma (Weimer) Johnson. Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bertha M. Witherow, and brother, Maurice F. Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Bobbie J. (Anderson) Johnson; daughters, B. Darlene, wife of Robert W. Horten, Windber, and Sandra L. Huchel, Sinking Spring, PA; granddaughter, Laura L. Huchel, Johnstown. Jake was a graduate of Johnstown High School. He was a US Navy Veteran serving during WWII. He retired May 1981 from Penelec, where he worked in the Transformer Repair Shop. He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. Jake was also a member of the Alma Lodge #523 and William F. Packer Encampment #127 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, where he held various positions. He was the last surviving charter member of the St. Clair Trap & Field Club. Jake enjoyed hunting, fishing, as well as spending time in the outdoors. He loved his family and will be dearly missed. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with Pastor Denise Ann Todero officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery with military rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. The family suggests contributions be directed to Bethany Presbyterian Church, 228 Blaine Street, Johnstown, PA 15906 in memory of Jake. Online condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.
