Lynch Jr.– Michael D., “Puds”, 92, East Conemaugh, went to be with the Lord on May 4, 2021. Born on October 6, 1928 in Franklin, son of Michael Sr. and Mary Lynch. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen “H.Y.” (Yewcic) Lynch; siblings, Joe, Jim, John, Bob, Bill, Ruth McCallister, Tina Standard, and Mary Sue Lynch. He is survived by his loving children, Kathy (Ron) Ling, Conemaugh, Denise (Mark) Grove, Elizabethtown, PA, and Mike III (Debbie) Lynch, Westmont; grandchildren, Aaron Ling, Michelle (Matthew) Griffin, Lee Anne (Kyle) Hable, Katie, Kristie, and Kara Lynch; great-grandchildren, Mark and Luke Griffin, and Asher and Brooks Hable; sisters-in-law, Ann Lynch and Kathleen Fabish, both of Westmont and several nieces and nephews. Mike was a graduate of Franklin High School. He was a US Navy Veteran serving during WWII in Communications. Mike was a member of PA National Guard #628, Tank Battalion Medical Detachment. He retired after 31 years of service with the USPS serving from 1956-1987. He also served on Conemaugh Valley School Board for 8 years and 1 year as President; East Conemaugh Borough Council for 8 years and 4 years as President. Mike was instrumental in getting the East Conemaugh Post Office back after a 5-year absence. He served on Cambria County Redevelopment Authority for 4 years. Mike was a member of The Church of the Transfiguration. He enjoyed politics and watching TV, especially the Pirates and news shows. Mike loved his family dearly and will be missed by all. His family would like to thank Conemaugh Healthcare Nurses, the VA, Conemaugh Valley Regional Ambulance, Nurses from Transitional Care, and 9 Rose at Conemaugh Hospital. Also, a very special thank you from Mike and Denise and their families to Ron and Kathy for their tremendous care they gave dad for the past 13 years. Friends will be received from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. on Friday, at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First Street, Conemaugh. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Transfiguration, Fr. Robert C. Hall, Pastor. Committal will be at Grandview Mausoleum with Military Rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW, Ritual Team. The family suggests contributions be directed to the Church of the Transfiguration, 340 Second Street, Johnstown, PA 15909, in memory of Michael.
