Michael A. "Gomer" Gore

Gore – Michael A., “Gomer”, 71, Portage, passed away on March 3, 2022. Born July 15, 1950 in Johnstown. Son of the late Lacy, “Rebel” and Mildred (Rosenbaum) Gore. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl L. “Cheri” (Miller) Gore. He is survived by his loving daughter, Sunshine (Eric) Batiste, Duncansville; granddaughters, Caitlyn and Kiersten Batiste; siblings, Deborah, wife of Joseph Macy, Salix; Cheryl, wife of James Macy, Salix and Rebecca Stiles, Johnstown; several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Mike was a US Marine Corp Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He retired after 20 years of service with the State of PA. Mike was one of the original members of the Wheels of Freedom whom they called, “Evil, Lord of Elton”. He was an avid Harley rider. Collecting many T-shirts as far away as Aruba, Cayman Islands, and Peru, South America. More than anything, Mike loved spending time with his granddaughters, taking them to the Drive-Inn’s, the Horse Shoe Curve, and concerts. He was a friend to everybody and will be remembered as the life of the party. Mike will be sadly missed by all. At Mike’s request, there will be no public viewing or service. Private inurnment will be at Dunmyer Cemetery at the convenience of the family with Military Rites conducted by Conemaugh Valley Det. #287 Marine Corps League Ritual Team.
