Melverta M. Stanley

Stanley – Melverta, M., “Bert” 82, Summerhill, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 13, 2014. Born on November 20, 1931 in Johnstown, daughter of Wallace “Amos” and Esther (Varner) Mathieson. Preceded in death by her parents; sons-n-law, Mark R. Reynolds and Michael J. Kauffman and brothers, Wallace and Merle. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James W. Stanley Sr., Summerhill; children, Jerilyn E.C. Reynolds, Jerome, PA, James W. Jr., married to the former Pamela Oliver, Palmyra, PA, Miles M., married to the former Cheryl J. Bader, Davidsville, Laura M., wife of Patrick J. Greenwood, Johnstown, Kim R., wife of Mark C. Connors, Southmont, Jeffrey R., married to the former Michele Rutar, Lititz, PA and Beverly D. Kauffman, wife of Kai V. Hoffman, Richland Township; grandchildren, David (Brittany), Joshua (Fiance, Jessica Hann), and Jared Reynolds, Jessica, and James Stanley III, Matthew (Sarah) and Jennifer Stanley, Kevin Greenwood and Michelle (Billy) Blough, Sarah (Tyler) Petro, Stephanie (Stephan) Caputa, Christine and Carissa Connors, Ryan and Nichole Stanley, Austen, Alexis and Spencer Kauffman; great grandchildren, Issak and Ella Stanley; brother, Devon “Cotton” Mathieson, Summerhill and numerous nieces and nephews. Bert was a member of Davidsville Community Church and its “Keenagers” Senior Group. She enjoyed baking, cooking and shopping. Bert loved family gatherings. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Monday at Davidsville Community Church with the Rev.
