Orr, Maxwell R. “Max”, 22, of Richland.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Maxwell Raymond Orr announce his passing on Monday, December 20th, 2021 at the young age of 22. He was surrounded in love by his entire family and special care givers. Maxwell is survived by his loving parents, James and Laura Orr, siblings Kayla, Kassidy, Margaret, Jonathan, and Bryan, grandmother Carolyn (Miller) Orr, his special care team Tracy, Windy, Deanna, Roger, Ashley, Logan, and Lauren, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as countless others whom he has impacted over the years. Maxwell will be received in Heaven with loving arms by grandparents William Devett, Dorothy (Moreland) Devett, and James E. Orr Jr, his uncle Michael Grady, and with lots of wet sloppy kisses from the family dog, Tarra. Maxwell was born in Windber, PA to parents James E. Orr III and Laura M. (Devett) Orr on April 12th, 1999. Since birth, he has faced an abundance of medical challenges, but his resilience and strength allowed him to flourish despite his handicaps. He attended Conemaugh Valley, Conemaugh Township, Forest Hills, Windber, and Westmost as a part of the MDS Classrooms where he particularly enjoyed the arts and crafts and frequent fieldtrips with his classmates, teachers, and care staff. As the second born into a family of six children, Max grew to love the excitement of a busy household. Throughout his life, Max has always been one to make his own rules. He loved to give those who loved him a hard time, but that didn’t keep him from making a positive impact on everyone around him throughout the years. His strength, courage, and commitment became an inspiration for many. Above all, Max understood what it meant to love and to be loved. Maxwell was truly a blessing. While he was granted only a short time, he was a force of gravity that attracted and touched the lives of so many people. He will be dearly missed. Friends and family will be received at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane (Richland), Johnstown, PA from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday, December 26th. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, December 27th at St. Benedict Catholic Church (Geistown), Johnstown, PA, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor.
