Herdman, Maurice J., âMoeâ, 85, of Belmont. Died May 30, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center. Born May 11, 1930, in Johnstown. Son of the late Franklin John and Florence Gertrude (White) Herdman. Also preceded in death by wife, Nancy (Kennedy) Herdman; and brothers Donald, Robert, Kenneth, Paul; and sister Mary Catherine. Maurice leaves behind five children; Daughter Winnie Keith (and friend Ted Ankeny), Maurice (Debbie Rushnak), John( Michelle Hudak), Lee ( Melissa Marisa) Dave ( Christina Belcher); and grandchildren Matthew, Stacey, Joshua, Nathan, Logan, Larissa Herdman, Angel (Joe Pilat) and Tony Belcher; and Great grandchildren Jamison and Jonathan Pilat. Survived by siblings William, Beverly ( Gary Long), Janet ( Raymond Newcomer), Raymond ( Remont), Special Sister Elizabeth Jean (John Reitz) Karen ( Ralph Wilson), Kathleen ( Thomas Williams); Brother in law of Alvin Callihan, Richard Rigby; Sister In laws Barbara Herdman and Barb Herdman; and Special neighbors Don and Gail Rhoades. Maurice was a 50 year member of Belmont United Methodist Church. Retired from Bethlehem Steel. Former owner of Geistown Service Station Scalp Avenue. Korean War Veteran of U.S. Army serving from January 1952 to October 1953. Moe enjoyed the evening gatherings with friends and neighbors, ending with a special call from his sister Betsy. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan. Friends received from 2-5 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and from 10 to 11 AM time of service Wednesday at Belmont United Methodist Church.
