Matthew J. Oravec

Oravec, Matthew Joseph, “Matt”, 38, of Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on October 18, 2013 at his residence. Born on October 4, 1975 in Johnstown. Son of Frank J. and Magdalen D. (Golian) Oravec, Richland Township. Preceded in death by Godmother, Dorothy Golian. In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by brothers, Frank A., and Gregory M. Oravec both of Dubois, PA; Godfather, Joseph Golian, Middle Taylor Township; aunts, Helen Cosgrove, Johnstown, Sandy (Thomas) Golian, Middle Taylor Township and Olga Oravec, Morrellville and several cousins, relatives and numerous friends. Matt attended 8 years at St. Benedict Catholic School and was a 1987 graduate of Richland High School. He then attended Penn State University, where he earned a Finance Degree and later graduated from Carlisle University with a Degree in Law. Matt was an active member of the State Bar of Nevada and practiced law in Las Vegas. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, where he served as an Alter Server for several years. Matt enjoyed baby sitting for his brother’s dog, Maukie. He was a very kind and loving person who was always willing to help other people. “May all the Angels greet you and may you rest in God’s loving hands until we meet again, our hearts will rejoice”. We appreciate all the time we spent with you, we miss you already. Friends will be received from 2-6 P.M. on Monday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
