Mary Louise Shawley

Shawley, Mary Louise “Pat” (Swatsworth), 88, of Berlin, PA., formerly of Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 23, 2017. Born Nov. 19, 1928, in Curwensville, PA. Daughter of the late Wilson and Agnes (Collins) Swatsworth. Also preceded in death by husband Elmer “Gump” Shawley, father in law Roy; mother in law Bertha “Tilly”; sister in law Helen Swatsworth; brother in law Wayne Stutzman; brother in law Sam Rodgers; niece Debbie Foster; brother in law Chester “Joe” Shawley; sister in law Bridget “Della” Shawley; brother in law Donald Burkhart; sister in law Alma “Muzz” Burkhart; brother in law Maurice “Ed” Shawley; sister in law Dorothy Joan Shawley; sister in law Helen “Gert” Shawley; and beloved dog “Corkey”. Survived by son Randy and wife, Janet; brother Gerald Swatsworth; sisters, Gladys Stutzman, Anna Jean Rodgers; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was a member of Arbutus Church of the Brethren and was employed by Penn Traffic Company in her earlier years.  She also worked at Cypress Avenue School in the cafeteria and was later employed by Conemaugh Memorial Hospital in the dietary department. Mary enjoyed ice skating and roller skating when she was much younger and later in life just enjoyed life and her “Corkey” as much as possible. Friends received 4-8 PM Friday Sept. 29, 2017, at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where service will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday. Rev. Barron Deffenbaugh, officiating.
