Mary C. Saloney

SALONEY---Mary C., 95, Franklin Borough, passed away on January 10, 2024 at The Village at Hilltop Heights. Born April 5, 1928, in Franklin Borough, daughter of Jacob and Anna (Resick) Govekar. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 41 years, George Saloney; sister, Anna, brother, Stephen, infant sister, Frances. Survived by children, Michael Saloney and wife, Kathy (Brandle), Bon Air; Nancy Bizjak and husband, Vic, Franklin Borough; grandchildren, Kristi Bizjak, Scott Saloney, Chad Bizjak and Matt Saloney; great-grandchildren, Taelur Vargo and Paeton Bizjak, and great-great-granddaughter, EddieMae Yost. Mary was a 1948 graduate of Franklin High. She worked at Dolan’s Hardware in Conemaugh for many years. Mary loved to line dance and she loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. She was a member of the Franklin Volunteer Fire Dept. auxiliary. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2024 at Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First St., Conemaugh. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2024 at SS. Gregory and Barnabas Parish, 408 Luzon Ave., Bon Air, with Fr. Callistus Eleu officiating.
