Mary Jane Pasternak

Pasternak, Mary Jane, 91, Richland, passed away on September 25, 2021 at Windber Hospice. Born May 1, 1930 in Windber, daughter of Michael and Elizabeth (Wargo) Hrabosky. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 62 years, Paul Pasternak who passed away on Dec. 8, 2013; brother, Michael Hrabosky; brothers-in-law, John, William and Andrew Pasternak; sister-in-law, Helen Pasternak, and nephew, Douglas Hrabosky. She is survived by her loving daughters, Linda, wife of Michael Prozialeck, Richland and Pam, wife of John “Pete” Mehall, Johnstown; granddaughters, Rebecca Reed and her fiancé, Mark Bennett both of Johnstown, Kristen (Brad) Killian, Gibsonia, PA, and Kelly Prozialeck, Orlando, FL; great grandchildren, Lydia Reed, Wyatt and Savannah Killian, and Adaleia Bennett. Also survived by sister-in-law, Mary Ann Hrabosky, and three nieces and a nephew. Mary Jane was formerly employed at Penn Traffic, Hess’s, and Bon Ton, from where she retired. She was lifelong member of the former St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Johnstown, where she was a church organist and member of the Dorcas Society and Ladies Alter Guild. Mary Jane was a current member of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Westmont. She was an expert Slovak cook and baker. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev. Robert Kaltenbaugh officiating. Interment will be at Richland Cemetery.
