Mary Jane Saintz

Saintz, Mary Jane, 88 of Richland Township, passed peacefully at Conemaugh Medical Center on Sunday, August 20,2017. She was born on December 23, 1928 in Johnstown to the late Jesse S. and Blanche E. (Snavely) Frum. Preceded in death by siblings, Helen Merritt, William, Harold and J. Richard Frum. She is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Fred D. Saintz and children, Marsha Jayne, wife of Alan Lessig, Johnstown; Jeffery W. Saintz, husband of Stacy (Blair) Saintz, Titusville, PA, and Melinda, wife of Paul Leonard, Johnstown. Also survived by grandchildren: David, Daniel and Sam Saintz and Jesse, Abigail and Benjamin Leonard, great-grandchildren: Abigail, Trevor and Adam Saintz, Lucas Leonard, Belle and Violet Saintz and T.J. Saintz. Jane graduated in 1946 from Johnstown High School and was the first May Queen. She was employed by American Stores Office in Woodvale and Law's Jewelry. She was a lifelong member of Calvary United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, #495, Anna Windolph Chapter. Jane volunteered at Arbutus Manor for 35 years. Special thanks and gratitude to the staff at Arbutus Manor, Crossroads unit and the Palliative Care Unit at Conemaugh Medical Center for their loving care of Jane.  Friends received from 2-8 pm Tuesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and one hour prior to the funeral service Wednesday at 2 PM at Calvary United Methodist Church, 159 Chandler Ave. Rev. Matthew Williams, Pastor, will preside over the service and interment at Richland Cemetery. O.E.S. Service at 7:30 PM Tuesday.
