Brandle – Mary Katherine, 92, Geistown, went home on June 29, 2016 at her residence. Born on June 21, 1924 in Johnstown, daughter of Clem (Chief) and Eleanor (Engelhart) Erlinger. Preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life, her husband, William “Bill” Brandle; son, William “Billy”; daughter, Mary “Kitty” Botteicher, and son-in-law, Jack Bracken. Also sisters, Barbara Bracken and Rita Nicholson, and brother, Eugene Erlinger. Our parents where from the greatest generation, instilling in us faith, and hard work ethics. They worked from sun up to sun down, providing us with love and all our basic needs. The seven remaining children are Helen Marie (Chuck, her #10) Sorchilla, Susan (Harry) Mock, Elaine Diehl, Patricia Bracken, all of Johnstown. Her loving full time care giver for the past 2 years, daughter, Rebecca Phizacklea, Colorado Springs, CO., Sons, Christopher (Karen Kniss) Brandle, Johnstown and Jeffrey Brandle and his fiancée, Kristina Ford, both of Pittsburgh. Mary Kay was Grammy to 27 grandchildren, Chuck Jr., Vincent, Christine, Scott, Troy, Jennifer, Jaime, Miranda, Katrina, Jessica, Sarah, Shiloh, Lindsay, Harrison “J.J.”, Zachary, Christalin, Chad, Seth, Eli, Christopher, Andrew, Brandon, Jacob, Quintin, Kaylin, Jeffrey, and Johanna. And G.G. to 32 great grandchildren. Sister-in-law to, Mario Bracken and Jane Brandle. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mary Kay was a graduate of Catholic High School. She was a lifelong member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. Mary Kay enjoyed reading, embroidery, and baking. She kept an impeccable house. Mary Kay could always be seen hanging clothes and sitting on her swing reading in the evenings. But most of all she loved her family. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Friday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to either St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fuel Fund, 2310 Bedford Street, Johnstown, PA 15904 or to the Arthritis Foundation, National Office, 1355 Peachtree St. NE, 6th Floor, Atlanta, GA 30309 in memory of Mary Kay.
