Mary Agnes (Wojnaroski) Appley

APPLEY---Mary Agnes (Wojnaroski), 81, Parkhill, left us on January 19, 2024, after a short stay at the Forest Hills Personal Care Home. She was born on August 14, 1942, in Johnstown, PA and was the daughter of the late Walter and Agnes (Flaugh) Wojnaroski. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald J. Appley Sr. Mary is survived by her five children, Ronald J. (Sherry), Elaine (James) Herceg, James, Mary (Mark) Vibostok, and Vince (Lisa); her 11 grandchildren, Sarah, Brendan, Elana, Ashley, James, Jacob, Nathan, Vincent, Samuel, Anna and Annie and 6 great-grandchildren; her five siblings, Edward Wojnaroski, Eileen Vivis, Walter Wojnaroski, Joan Stephenson and Theresa Preuss, her sister-in-law, Frances and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary Agnes was so loved. Throughout the last few years her memory faded, but she never forgot her love of family or her faith in God. She loved her home and was only able to remain there with the loving care of her family, especially cared for by her son, Jimmy and constant companion Spuds. She loved “cutting up bread” to feed her birds in the back yard, reading her prayer books and praying for people on her ever- growing prayer list. She had such a big heart. Growing up in the Appley household, Mary made sure: the door was always open for visitors; every weekend was meant for going to church; there was always time to visit elderly neighbors or send over a meal; and no one ever left the house hungry. She will forever remain in our hearts as a great mother, wonderful grandmother and blessed sister. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 29, 2024 at Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First St., Conemaugh, followed by Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., Monday, January 29, 2024 at Resurrection Catholic Church, 324 Chestnut St., Johnstown, PA.
