Mary Ann Luprek

Luprek, Mary Ann, 70, of Geistown. Died peacefully May 19, 2013, at Windber Hospice surrounded by family. Born February 5, 1943 in Richland Twp.  Daughter of John and Catherine (Chapman) McKool. Survived by husband of 52 years, Richard L. Luprek, Sr.; Children, Rick married to Betsy (Jakubac), Geistown; Karen married to Ken Myers, Philadelphia; Brian married to Fonga (Tapumania), of Berlin, PA; and Chris married to Jim Erb, of Salix; grandchildren, Aaron (Morgan), David (Sarah), Rebecca, Sarah, Kacie, Kenny, Jesse, Alyssa, Rachel, and Cody; Great Grandsons, Canyon, Roman, and Fynnley. Sister of Bob (Carol) McKool, Jack (Marge) McKool, Dick (Judy) McKool all of Johnstown. Sister in law of Joanne McKool, California; Patsy Scher of Florida; Mike & Pam Luprek of Alaska; and lifelong friend, Delene (Gahagen)Leeming. Numerous nieces and nephews. Founded Mr. Muffler with her husband in 1978 and worked as office manager until retirement. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown.  In retirement she was an active volunteer at Johnstown Christian School, MOPS, and committed Curves Member.  She was the center of her family attending the activities of her grandchildren, cooking Sunday family dinners, and family traditions were of utmost importance to her. Friends received 2:00-8:00pm Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil Service will be held.  Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30pm Thursday at St. Benedict Church. Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal at St. Joseph Mausoleum. Family suggests donations to Johnstown Christian School, Windber Hospice, or St. Benedict Catholic Church in memory of Mary Ann.
