Martha A. Schaeffer

Schaeffer, Martha A. “Mar”, 92, of Richland Township, passed away on January 14, 2011 at Laurelwood Care Center. Born on October 7, 1918 in Pittsburgh. Daughter of Arthur and Virginia (Stephens) Allison. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn R. Schaeffer Sr.; siblings, Mariam Crummy, Wayne, Virginia Allison, Wilma Allison, Phyllis Gunst, Mahlon and Dixon. She is survived by her loving children; Glenn R. Jr. married to the former Suzanne Rupik, Baden, PA, David A. married to the former Kathleen Weaver, Cool Ridge, WV and Linda A. Montag, Richland Township; grandchildren, Cheryl E. wife of James Belles, Slippery Rock, PA, Allison W. wife of Christopher Burdette, Sharpesburg, GA, Christopher D. Schaeffer, Atlanta, GA, Kimberly A. wife of Jason Halperin, Las Vegas, NV, Robert J. Jr. married to the former Karen Kraf, North Huntingdon; great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Dustin Belles, Jacob Halperin, and Preston and Roman Montag and several nieces and nephews. Martha was a 1936 graduate of Wilkinsburg High School. She retired as an Executive Secretary from the former Robel Construction Company. Martha was a member of the Grove Avenue United Methodist Church where she was the Sunday School Secretary for many years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, going out to eat and musical concerts. Martha loved spending time with her entire family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Friends will be received from 11 A.M. until time of service at 1:30 P.M. on Tuesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev. Edward Schoeneck. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial contributions can be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Martha.
