Mark J. Baserman

Baserman – Mark J., 60, Oakland, went to be with the Lord on February 26, 2018. Born on August 21, 1957 in Johnstown, son of James W. Baserman and Lucille A. (Cenney) Baserman, Oakland. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by several beloved dogs. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Lynn (Parrish) Yeager, Oakland; step daughter, Jacqueline (Yeager), wife of John Holbay, Johnstown; 6 step grandchildren; brother, Paul W., NY; several cousins, and beloved pets, Kyra, Chester, Bentley, Cleo, and Noah. Mark was a 1975 graduate of Greater Johnstown Vo-Tech High School. As a young man, he volunteered many years with the Oakland Volunteer Fire Company. Mark was a US Army Veteran stationed in Alaska. He was employed as an EMT for East Hills Ambulance Service for over 20 years; and in the State Correctional System most recently as Sergeant at SCI-Somerset. Mark enjoyed classic cars, The Three Stooges, John Candy movies and Get Smart. He was always ready for a good laugh, and to help others in their times of need. Mark loved his family, friends, pets, and his home. At Mark’s request there will be no public viewing. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. The family is being served by the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Private inurnment will be at Grandview Cemetery. A public service will be held at a later date to be announced.
