Metzler â Marjorie C, 89, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on October 22, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. Born on March 17, 1925 in Johnstown, daughter of Harry and Margaret (OâFarrell) Baserman. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frederick K. Metzler; sister, Ruth Adams; brother, James; infant brother, Harry and son-in-law, Albert C. Kreipl Jr. She is survived by her loving children, Dean H. and special friend, Anthony M. Falatico, Collingswood, NJ, Marcia L. Metzler and special friend, Raymond L. Heil, Baltimore, MD, and Alan R., married to the former Elaine M. Grady, Richland Township; grandchildren, Capt. Matthew A. Metzler, USMC, Aberdeen, NJ and his fiancé, Justine Borzumato, Old Bridge, NJ and 2nd Lt. Eric R. Metzler, US Army, Ft. Sill, OK; brother, Wayne Baserman, Voorhees, NJ; sister, Marilyn, wife of William Krieger, Sun City West, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews. Marjorie was a 1943 graduate of Johnstown High School. Upon graduating high school, she worked as a stenographer in Washington, DC for the war effort. After WW II, Marjorie was employed in the Bethlehem Steel office, Gautier Division. After raising her family she was employed at Kings Department Store, and the Riverside Market Bakery. She was long time member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and TOPS #368. In her youth, Marjorie enjoyed roller skating and began her lifelong love of movies and music. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker, who enjoyed hosting family gatherings for many years. More recently, Marjorie enjoyed cross stitching, bird watching, Jumbles, and shopping with her sister-in-law, Irma Yarnick and good friend Carol Krone. She loved spending time with her entire family, especially her grandsons. Marjorie will be remembered as a kind and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Family and friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Friday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal will be at Grandview Cemetery.
