Marion L. McDowell

McDowell, Marion L., 86, of Richland Township, formerly of Vinco, passed away on Feb. 14, 2011, at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on September 16, 1924, in Johnstown. Daughter of Charles and Lillian (Smith) Rasbach. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her step father, Rev. Harold Hoffman; husband, Louis M. “Merle” McDowell; brother, Harold and a sister-in-law, Helen Rasbach. Survived by her loving daughter, Donna J. wife of Curtis Grove, Richland Township; granddaughters, Lori L. wife of Barry Himes, Johnstown and Michelle D. wife of Scott Rhine, Dubois; great grandchildren, Kyler, Jacklyn and Samantha Himes and Hunter and Madison Rhine; and devoted brother, Donald Rasbach, Johnstown and several nieces and nephews. Marion was a 60 year member of Vinco Brethren Church, where she was a member of the Missionary Women and served as Deaconess. Her family would like to thank everyone at Arbutus Park Manor for their loving care and assistance they showed Marion and her late husband over the last year. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother and sister. Home and family was what she loved. Friends received 3-7 P.M. on Thursday and from 9 A.M. until time of service at 10 A.M. on Friday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Pastor Wes Lewis officiating.
