Marie G. Dona

Dona, Marie G., 92, of Richland. Died May 7, 2016, at Conemaugh Medical Center. Born Oct. 25, 1923, in Johnstown. Daughter of the late Clair and Charlotte (Hardy) O’Connor. Also preceded in death by sisters, Hilda Cemo and Eileen Bassett. Survived by husband of 71 years, Joseph Dona; children, Sandra (Richard) Barlett, Suzanne Pitera, and C. Joseph (Trudy) Dona; grandchildren, Jodi Bryan, Tammy Aungst, P.J. Pitera, Tracy Tomassi, Alexis and Lindsey Dona. Also 8 great grandchildren. Sister of Dorothy Roscoe. Also numerous nieces and nephews. 1942 graduate of Johnstown High School. WW 11 Navy Veteran serving in Intelligence. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown, Johnstown D.A.V. and Windber V.F.W. Auxiliary. A caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed being  with all the family. Marie loved to travel, dance and play Bocce. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM Tuesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal as St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum with Military Rites by Windber V.F. W. Ritual Team.
