Marian M. Bunja

Bunja - Marian, M., 92, of Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on April 27, 2016 at Golden Living Center-Richland. Born on July 13, 1923 in Johnstown, daughter of James E. and Effie J. (Foust) Gerber. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; brothers, William R. and James R. and sisters, Helen M. Wisor, Elizabeth L. Gorzelsky, and V. Romayne Wolfe. She is survived by her loving children, John E., married to the former Carol A. Brumbaugh, New Paris, PA, William F., married to the former Charlotte J. Lutz, Fort Lupton, CO and Virginia E. “Jeanie” Bunja, Johnstown; grandchildren, Rebecca A., wife of Mark O. Pilson, Firestone, CO, Amanda J., wife of Charles J. Minnock III, Platteville, CO, Jack L., married to the former Dawn Papuga, Baltimore, MD, Derrick J., married to the former Jennifer F. Rafati, Mechanicsburg, PA and Jason A., and fiancée, Katie Grimes, Canonsburg, PA; great grandchildren, Orion Pilson, Malina and Charles “C.J.” J. Minnock IV, Regan and Hayden Bunja; sister, LaRue Yeager, Middlefield, OH and numerous nieces and nephews. Marian was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and a former member of St. Benedict’s Ladies Work Shop. She enjoyed music as well as playing her keyboard and the piano. She also enjoyed crocheting, crafts and gardening. Marian’s family would like to thank both Golden Living and AseraCare for all of their care and support. Friends received from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to St. Benedict Catholic Church, 2310 Bedford Street, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Marian.
