Stark - Margaret Louise, “Peggy”, of Voorhees, NJ, passed away June 29, 2024 with her family by her side. Peggy was born on New Years Day 1937 in Johnstown, PA to the late Francis and Mable (Baltzersen) Nitch.
She graduated from Bishop McCort High School (1955) and attended Seton Hill College—the start of a life-long career in education. Peggy married her high school sweetheart, John J. Stark in 1958 and joined him in Savannah, GA as an “Air Force Wife.” Peggy and John spent 30 years traveling with the Air Force. She has lived in Alaska, Plattsburg, NY, Ramstein West Germany, England, North Dakota, Washington State…and more. In 1999 Peggy and John retired to Johnstown.
Peggy was the life of many parties. She loved to entertain and had some serious kitchen skills. She was known for her carrot cakes and her no-bake cookies. There was always something cooking at the Stark house. She mixed a mean Harvey Wallbanger cocktail and always had a box of red and a box of white wine at the ready.
At her athletic peak, Peggy neared a 200-bowling average. She Volkesmarched and needlepointed and traveled and collected friends and talked to children in stores. She loved her Pittsburgh Pirates and Catholic High football games. She loved traveling with John in their R.V. seeing the county and visiting friends and family.
But most of all, Peggy loved her family. And they love her. Peggy is survived by John, her husband of 66 years. Peggy raised four children: Jenny Stark (Bill Carboni), Diana Casey, Linda Stark (Bob Humiston), and John Stark Jr. (Lisa Stadnyk). She is survived by seven grandkids: Michele (+ great granddaughter Sophia) and Matt Casey, Katie and Michael Carboni, Jack Humiston, and Michaela and Bryston Stark. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Ruth Ann (Nitch) Kiniry, her loving sister-in-law, Fran Stark, and committed cousin, Mary Lee Nitch. Peggy was full of love and life and faith. Her life was a blessing to all who knew her. We celebrate her life and invite you to celebrate as well.
