MOYER---- Margaret A. “Peggy,” (Mainhart), 70, Johnstown, passed away at home on June 28, 2020 after a courageous two and a half year battle with cancer. Born January 3, 1950, in Johnstown, daughter of Walter B. Mainhart and Rosemary Reitz. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Richard “Bernie” Mainhart and brother-in-law, William “Bill” Moyer and nephew William “Billy” Gephart. Survived by devoted, loving husband, Charles R. Moyer with whom she would have celebrated their 54th anniversary on July 2; children, Lawrence “Larry” and fiancé, Angie, Johnstown and Rosemary (Moyer) Nipps, Duncansville; grandchildren, Aaron Moyer (Mike Varga), Paiton Nipps (Ronald Grove III) and Preston Nipps (Marissa Lanzel); great-grandchildren, Avrie and Ronald Grove IV. Sister of Sally Gephart (Dennis), Bedford and Liz Radu (Bill), Mt. Pocono; sister-in-law, Carol Moyer, Salix; also survived by nieces and nephews, Fred Mainhart, (Samantha), Dennis Gephart Jr. (Amy), Heather Gephart (Terry Mosholder), Lisa Valchine (Victor), Pam Mardis (Scott), Bill Moyer and Amy Moyer; also survived by great-nieces and great-nephews; and several very dear cousins, whom she grew up with. Peggy was a graduate of Richland High School and she worked as a waitress for Tops Diner in Moxham and the Corner Coffee Shop, Richland. She also worked for Shop-N-Save. Peggy was a lifetime member of Camp Sunshine, Bedford, PA, a place that she loved dearly and where she was an officer for several years. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, and the Ladies Auxiliary of Bedford American Legion, Post #113. Peggy was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and family was very important to her. She loved being the hostess at family gatherings. She also enjoyed cooking, playing pinochle and trips to the casinos. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Funeral Mass will be held at Noon Friday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, with Fr. Peter Crowe. Committal, Richland Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, PA 15963 in memory of Margaret A. “Peggy” Moyer.
