Margaret Daryle Brown

Brown – Margaret Daryle, 100, of Richland, went to be with the Lord on October 18, 2024 at Arbutus Park Manor. Born on April 23, 1924 in Lilly, daughter of George W. I and Elizabeth I. (Neilson) Schalles. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Edwin Brown Sr.; son, Robert E. Jr.; siblings, Elinor Jean Jones, George W. II, Miriam V. Berkebile, and Robert N. 

 She is survived by her loving daughter, Rebecca (James) Mayes, Davidsville; son, Richard (Susan) Brown, Houston, TX; daughter-in-law, Barbara (Bedell) Brown, Casa Grande, AZ; grandchildren, Jason (Erika) Brown, Timothy (Kristin) Mayes, Megan Mayes, and Austin and Benjamin Brown; great grandchildren, Andy and Sam Brown, Lucas and Carter Mayes, and Ava, Abby, and Charlie Marroquin, and many nieces and nephews. 

 Margaret was a 1942 graduate of Dale High School. She was a member of the former Beulah United Methodist Church and the Challengers Sunday School Class. Margaret enjoyed sewing, reading, and listening to music. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, and family.

 Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev. Charles L. Shaffer officiating. Private entombment will be at Richland Mausoleum. The family suggests contributions be directed to Arbutus Park Manor, 207 Ottawa Street, Johnstown, PA 15904 or Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Avenue, Windber, PA 15963 in memory of Margaret.
