Magdalen D. "Maggie" Oravec

ORAVEC---Magdalen D. "Maggie," 86, Richland, went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2025 at UPMC Mercy, Pittsburgh. Born Aug. 29, 1938 in Johnstown, daughter of Andrew and Margaret Golian. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Frank and son, Matthew; brothers, Andrew, Stephen, Joseph and Thomas and sisters, Margie and Helen. Survived by sons, Frank Oravec, DuBois and Gregory Oravec, Richland; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Maggie was a graduate of Ferndale Area High School and worked as a nursing assistant and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and various other pastimes including listening to her old time country and polka favorites, including Daniel O'Donnell and Jimmy Sturr. Her talents were making people laugh and yodeling. She was a member of the Christian Classic Clown Club of Johnstown and St. Benedict Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 8:45 until 9:30 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr.
