Boxler, Lydia N., 93, Quemahoning Towers, formerly of Richland. Died Oct. 30, 2014, in Mifflintown, PA. Born March 3, 1921, in Windber. Daughter of the late Andrew and Louise (Lilly) McDowell. Also preceded in death by husband, Benjamin J. Boxler in 1965 and sons, John T. Boxler who was killed during Desert Storm;and David A. Boxler; daughter, Margaret A. Claxton; and grandson, Andrew J. Guizio; also 9 brothers and sisters. Survived by children; Gary (Ruth Walter) Boxler, Richland; Mary L. (William) Miller, Mifflintown, PA; and Benjamin J. (Donna McKool) Boxler. 17 grandchildren and numerous great -grandchildren. Also daughter-in-law, Elaine Boxler, Johnstown and son-in-law, Lee Claxton, Florida. Graduate of Windber High School. Former member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown. Life member of Geistown Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and Cambria Co. Firemanâs Ladies Auxiliary. Active with Windber Senior Center and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil Service will be held.
