Beabes, Louis L., 97, of Geistown. Died Dec. 24, 2020, at home. Born July 5, 1923. He is proceeded in death by wife, Dorothy C. (Jones), parents Isaac & Emma (Chaplin), and brothers, Oran & Guy. He is survived by sister Lona Norris and her husband Wilfred; and sister- in- law, Cora Keefer. Children, Susan (Bullock), Ernest Ray, wife Barbara (Woomer), Daniel, wife Kathie (Burns), and John, wife Pamela (Johnson). Thirteen grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. He was born in Sipesville and raised in Somerset, where he was a member of Casebeer Lutheran Church until he went to war. A WWII Army Veteran, where he was stationed in Yokohoma, Japan. Louis came to Johnstown in 1945 and built his home in Geistown in 1949 where he lived, raised his family and passed peacefully in his sleep. He was an active member of the Moxham Lutheran Church since 1945, Geistown Volunteer Fire Co., the NRA, the Geistown-Richland Lions Club, where he could be found each summer barbequing the chicken. He had many jobs some to include working as a trolley driver for Trolley number 350, a mechanic for Wellers dairy, and Memorial Hospital. His last job before retiring was with Skones Advanced Heating and Cooling. He was a hunter and provider for his family, had much knowledge, (but was a master of none, as he often said) and will be greatly missed by one and all. Visitation from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm time of service Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Interment with military rites at Richland Cemetery.
