Lois Jean Updyke

Updyke – Lois J., 83, Mineral Point, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2022 at her loving granddaughter, Stacy and her husband, Rick’s residence. Born on May 14, 1939 in Johnstown, daughter of William and Loretta F. (O’Conner) Vivis. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Glenn Sr.; son, Glenn Jr. and a siblings, Kenneth, Paul, and Betty Ribblett. She is survived by her loving children, Patty (Brian) Rygel, Diane (Dan) Rhoades, and Kim Updyke and her fiancée, (Mike Sokach); grandchildren, Stacy (Rick) Peruso, Ashley (David) Wentz, Rick (Robin) Rhoades, Jennifer (Mike) Kohler, and Daniel (Samantha) Rhoades; great grandchildren, Marissa (Matt) Senft, Mikayla and Lexie Peruso, Jacob and Julia Kohler, Danny, Paige and Grady Rhoades, Cameron Rhoades, and Luca Wentz; great-great granddaughter, Briar Senft; sister, Geraldine Billick; brothers, Charles, Robert, Donald, Walter, Jack, and Jim Vivis; numerous nieces, nephews and many friend, including special neighbor, Mike Keyser. Lois enjoyed cutting grass and trimming hedges. She loved family get togethers, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The Updyke family is very grateful for Stacy and Rick Peruso’s loving care for Lois. At Lois’s request, there will be no public viewing. A Graveside Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11^th, at Headrick Union Cemetery, followed by a celebration of her life at 11 a.m. at her granddaughter, Stacy Peruso’s residence. The family is being served by the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First Street, Conemaugh. Private inurnment will be at Headrick Union Cemetery.
