Simanski, Leora âJeanâ,73, Upper Yoder Township departed this world to be with her Lord on November 19, 2011, at Windber Hospice. She was born on August 14, 1938, in Richland Township. Daughter of the late Ervin L. Sr. and Hazel Leora (Giffin) Bloom. Also preceded in death by siblings, infant brother, Oliver, Alma Seese, and Ervin âBudâ Bloom; father and mother-in-law, Emil and Avanell Simanski; brothers-in-law, Donald Seese, Raymond Karashin, Ralph Simanski, Harry âChuckâ Seese and Arthur Nagle and a sister-in-law, Esther Karashin. Survived by loving husband and dance partner of 52 years, Emil F. Simanski Jr.; children, Melanie Jean wife of Barry G. Cameron, Westmont, Timothy E. Simanski, Upper Yoder Township, and Carla L. wife of Michael W. Rhodes, Lima, OH; grandchildren, Michael and Quinten Cameron both of Westmont and Joshua and Trista Mikolich both of Virginia Beach , VA; sisters, June Seese, Windber, Merna Nagle, Richland Township, and Carol wife of Ralph Schneck, Geistown; brothers, Kenneth married to the former Eileen Snyder, Berlin, Ernest married to the former Kathryn Richter, Park Hill; sisters-in-law, Lois Bloom, Richland Township, and Evelyn Simanski, South Plainfield, NJ; brothers-in-law, Ray Simanski married to the former Marlene Rice, Salix, and Albert Simanski married to the former Barbara Partsch, Upper Yoder Township and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean was a 1958 graduate of Richland High School. She was life member of Dunmyer Lutheran Church, where she served on council, Alter Guild, choir and Lydia Circle. Jean retired after 32 years of service from Westmont School District. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy in her life and a precious comfort during her passing. The family would like to thank everyone who assisted Jean thru deeds and prayer during her illness and passing. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, and from 9 A.M. until time of service at 10 A.M. on Wednesday at Dunmyer Lutheran Church, Pastor Nila Cogan, Officiating. Interment will be at Richland Cemetery.
