Leonard S. Yesh Sr.

Yesh – Leonard S. Sr. “Pap”, 79, of Richland Township, formerly of East Conemaugh, passed away on January 8, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on May 8, 1936 in Johnstown. Son of Andrew J. and Kathryn A. (Furman) Yesh. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Nancy L., “Nana” (Erwin) Yesh; sister, Jane Yesh; brothers, Edward (Shirley) and Ronald Yesh; sister-in-law, Joan (Alfred Sr.) Buterbaugh; sister-in-law, Shirley Erwin. Leonard was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survived by loving children, Connie Pribozie, Johnstown, Len Stanley Yesh and Michael Barno, Pittsburgh, Kathy wife of Douglas Glattke and Nancy wife of Thomas Morisi all of Geistown; grandchildren, Michael (Melissa) Pribozie, David (Catherine) Pribozie, Jacob Morisi, Doug Glattke Jr., and Noah Glattke; great grandchildren, Autumn McClain, Angelina, Ariel, and Christian Pribozie, Steven and Justin Pribozie; brother-in-law, Merle Erwin, Hollidaysburg; sister-in-law, Alice Hawks, Greencastle, PA. Also survived by several nieces and nephews, including immediate niece, Jane (David) Johnson, Ashville, NC and his little companions, Charm and Daphne. Pap was a graduate of Ferndale High School. He retired from Bethlehem Steel as a Supervisor and later from Bar-Tech and Veritas Steel. Pap was a Navy Veteran serving on the USS Essex. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown. Pap was an avid sports fan who loved the Pens, Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates. He enjoyed fishing and evenings with his friends. Friends will be received 2-8 P.M. on Monday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland Township. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Father David S. Peles, Pastor.
