CAPOUELLEZ, Leonard J. "Cappy," "Herb," "Pap," 93, Mineral Point, passed away on September 6, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. Born July 30, 1930, in Tippletown, near Dysart, son of John and Geraldine (Conrad) Capouellez. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Cheryl Ann Capouellez; great-grandson, Alexander Emmett Capouellez; brothers and sisters, Ethel Eckenrode, Leo Capouellez, John "Squirt" Capouellez and Clifford Capouellez. Survived by loving wife of 70 years, Louise J. (Dzielski) Capouellez, whom he married July 18, 1953; sons, Daniel (Susan) Capouellez, Echo; Gary (Judy) Capouellez, Johnstown; James (Lisa) Capouellez, Michigan; grandchildren, Christopher (Amy) Utnik, Salix; Todd Capouellez, Echo; Joshua (Alexis) Capouellez, East Taylor Twp.; Robert (Katlyn) Capouellez, Jeannette; Justin (Dulce) Capouellez, Pittsburgh; Aaron Capouellez, Johnstown; Ryan Capouellez, New York; Benjamin Capouellez, Michigan; Renee Capouellez, Michigan; and great-grandchildren, Chloe Ann Capouellez and Evah Marie Capouellez. He is also survived by his dog Penny and he was preceded in death by his hunting dog, Ralph. Leonard was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a graduate of Gallitzin High School. He worked for 32 years at Bethlehem Steel Corporation, where he was a crane operator in the Wire Mill at the end of his career. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time in Potter County. He was a member of the Conemaugh Firemen's Club, Parkhill American Legion, Franklin VFW and the Church of the Transfiguration. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First St., Conemaugh. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Church of the Transfiguration, with Fr. Robert C. Hall. Committal, Sacred Heart Cemetery.
