Leah H. Williams

WILLIAMS – Leah H. (Hunter), 85, of Johnstown, passed on to her heavenly reward on March 19, 2018, at Laurel View Village. Born on the 4th of July, 1932 in Pittsburgh, PA. Daughter of the late Rev. Austin Vanlier & Twila (Snyder) Hunter. Also preceded in death by her brother Rev. A. Vanlier Hunter.  Survived by beloved husband of 62 years, William H. Williams. Also survived by three sons, William A. Williams (Lynne), Johnstown; John A. Williams (Kim), Ligonier; and David H. Williams (Tammy), Johnstown; proud grandmother of five grandchildren Abigail (Pittsburgh), Austin, Hunter, Kallie and Jenna Williams. Proud graduate of Grove City College (1954) with a degree in Christian Education.  Moved to Johnstown to take a position as Director of Christian Education at First Presbyterian Church.  Worked for 34 years at the Redstone Presbyterian Home in Johnstown, where she was administrator for 18 years.  Held many positions of leadership at First Presbyterian Church through the years, including Clerk of Session for over 30 years and Certified Lay Pastor for the Redstone Presbytery. Leah dedicated her life to Christian service at her church and in her vocation.  She loved to support her family in every activity. Leah loved being with family, collecting angels, and anything small!  Her sweet spirit and loving ways were noticed by all.  Friends will be received Friday, March 23 from 2 to 8 PM at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and from 9:30 AM to time of Funeral Service at 10:30 AM Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Johnstown.
